Route 2 reveals a few new types of poke'mon. Not only will they add a few more pages to your poke'dex, but they may help you begin to form a team.

This forest will take you time to fully bypass. There are a lot of bug-type poke'mon, and a few trainers to test your skills against.

Pewter City is home to the first gym in which you may compete. There's also a museum, which currently has an exhibition starring the fossils of some ancient poke'mon.

Route 3 is littered with trainers, as well as new poke'mon for you to catch. At the end of this path is Mount Moon, as well as a poke'mon center where you can heal your poke'mon before you enter the cave.

Mount Moon will take you a while to pass through. Twisting mazes and caverns in the darkness of the cave will soon have you lost and wandering in circles ... on top of that, there are also a few trainers who may battle you.

Route 4 is short and pretty basic. It must be travelled with care, however. There are many ledges around, so be careful when training.

There is a lot to see and do here. Not only is there another gym, but you can pick up a bike as well. It also looks like there's been a robbery ... perhaps you should go take a look some time.

How strange ... Route 24 comes after Route 4. Nevertheless, there are some new poke'mon to be caught and Nugget Bridge to be traversed!

Route 25 has a few trainers to be faught, but not much else. At the end of this path is the house of the Poke'maniac, Bill. Why not pay him a visit and see what advice he has for you?

... Route 5 after Route 25? Maybe I got my ordering wrong ... Ah well. This route has a poke'mon day-care, where you can leave your poke'mon for a while so it can be pampered and cared for while you travel. The entrance to Saffron City is blocked at the moment, so you'll have to take the Underground Path through to Route 6.

Route 6 isn't anything special. There may be a few trainers for you to battle, but not much else. Head to Vermillion City when you're done here, since the entrance to Saffron City is still closed.

Vermillion is a busy port-side city, and home to the world-famous SS. Anne. If you have a ticket, be sure to jump aboard and hob-nob down with the best trainers in the world (in their mind)!

This route is very short, and has absolutely nothing to do but training. Just enjoy your walk through this quiet little area.

If you have the surf TM, you can travel by water to the Kanto region's power plant.
Rock Tunnel is also here; the only current route through to Lavender Town.

Lavender is a very small town, but there are a few things you can do. Poke'mon Tower resides here, and the town is a-buzz with rumours of a ghost that haunts the tower ... Do you believe in ghosts?

Route 8 is a quiet route, like many of Kanto's short paths. The entrance to Saffron is still closed (will those guards EVER get something to drink?), so you'll have to take the underground path.

There isn't much to do here. Take this opportunity to do some training - these poke'mon should pose no threat to your own.
